Brayelin and Jineiris lead victory over Venezuela

SANTA MARTA, Colombia, November 12, 2017 – Sisters Brayelin and Jineiris Martinez led the victory of Dominican Republic over Venezuela in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-17) in the first match of the women’s volleyball tournament of the Bolivarian Games on Sunday.

Brayelin led the Dominican charts with 16 points while Jineiris followed with 12 and Gaila Gonzalez added 9 points.

Juliennys Regalado was the top scorer for Venezuela with 11 points followed by Winderlys Medina and Meriyen Serrano with 8 and 6 points, respectively.

The Dominicans outscored their opponents in attacks (36-24) and blocks (11-7) while Venezuela held the slight 6-5 margin in aces

The Martinez sisters each scored with three blocks and Gonzalez landed two aces.
