Caceres wins Group K MVP award

 

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, July 28, 2013-  Miguel Caceres of gold medal winners-  the Dominican Republic  was named the Most Valuable Player of Group K  of the Second Round of the NORCECA Zone of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championships Qualifications, which concluded here Sunday night at the Multi- Purpose Sports Complex.

 

The Dominican Republic captain also copped the Best Spiker award.

 

But it was third place team- St Vincent and the Grenadines which left the venue with the bulk of the awards.

 

The Vincentians were presented with five individual awards, with Cassius Franklyn pouching the Best Scorer and Best Server accolades.

 

The other awards to go the Vincentians’ way were Best Blocker- Cluevvan Cumberbatch; Best Setter- Jahmal Small and Best Receiver- Akins Questelles.

 

Max Valenzuela of runners up- Panama secured the awards of Best Digger and Best Libero.
