Coaches Course Level II Opens in Dominican Republic

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 3, 2013 – An International Coaches Course Level II is being held at the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic.

 

The course, under the direction of Argelio Hernandez of Cuba and Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico, opened on Tuesday and it is the last activity of a busy year for the development of volleyball and beach volleyball in the region.

 

Coaches from Bonaire, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are taking part in the course.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by Luis Mejia Oviedo and Antonio Acosta President and Secretary General, respectively, of the Dominican Olympic Committee

 

Also present during the opening ceremony was Nelson Ramirez, Director of the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic, and Angel Rivas, Technical Vice President of the Dominican Republic Volleyball Federation.

 

Jacqueline Montes, who is in charge of the Training Department of the Development Center in Baja California, Mexico, is taking part of the activity as observer.

 

Lisandra Ramirez is the coordinator of the course representing the Development Center in Santo Domingo.
