Costa Rica NORCECA BVB first whistle blows on Friday

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, November 21, 2013. -Hosting for the first time a NORCECA circuit stage, Costa Rica is prepared for Friday’s first day of actions of the 2013 tenth leg at Hatillo 7 venue.

Pool play round is scheduled to take place on Friday and Saturday, to define teams moving on for the single elimination championship bracket. The semifinals and finals will take place on Sunday to crown winners of the first Costa Rica stage.

The competition format and pool distribution were determined during the general technical meeting by Arnaldo Sanchez, director of the event, after a warm welcoming to all athletes by Jose Luis Jimenez Lao, president of Costa Rican National Federation. The rules of the game were reminded by Jose Ramon Perez Vento, referee manager.

Matches kick off at 9:00 am (local time) with duos of Dominican Republic in both genders facing Costa Rica-C in the women’s division and Jamaica in the men’s division.

Pool A: USA-A, TRI, NCA. Pool B: CAN-A, ESA, LCA.  Pool C: MEX, HON, ISV. Pool D: DOM, PUR, CAN-B, CRC-C. Pool E: GUA, CRC-A, USA-B, CRC-B.

Men’s Pools:

Pool A: MEX, NCA, ESA-A. Pool B: CAN-A, CRC-A, ARU, ESA-B. Pool C: USA-A, DOM, JAM, CRC-B. Pool D: GUA, LCA, CAN-B, USA-B.
