Curacao finishes third in NORCECA Group L

 

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, May 19, 2013 – Curacao beat Antigua & Barbuda in straight sets (25-22, 25-17, 25-19) on Sunday evening for third place of the NORCECA Second Round Group L Tournament of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championship at Centro Deportivo Betico Croes in Oranjestad.

 

Once again Darwin Colina was the top scorer for Curacao with 15 points, including six blocks, while Jurcham Meulens contributed 11 tallies. James Jamarie had 8 points in the losing cause.

 

Colina, who succeeded in 9 of 22 killing attempts, had 86 points in the four matches he took part of averaging 21.5 per match.

 

Curacao totaled 12 blocks to 6 of Antigua & Barbuda and both teams scored two aces. The winners committed 26 errors to 28 by the defeated side.
