Dominicans sweep Peru for first win

SANTA MARTA, Colombia, November 21, 1017, Dominican Republic stopped Peru in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, and 25-20) to claim their first victory against one loss at the men’s volleyball tournament of the Bolivarian Games on Monday.

The Dominicans had lost to Chile in straight sets on Sunday when the men’s volleyball competition got underway.

In other matches on Monday, Ecuador beat Panama 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-11), Venezuela edged Chile 3-2 (25-14, 25-13, 18-25, 16-25, 15-13) and Colombia trounced Bolivia 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-15),
