Mexican Sainz highly touted by German Club

BRNO, Czech Republic, August 4 2014 - After playing the second phase of the FIVB World Grand Prix, Mexican Lizbeth Seomara Sainz has captured the media attention in Europe.

Due to the proximity between Germany and the Czech Republic, the German Press dedicated some information about her incorporation to the Potsdam Volleyball Club of the Bundesliga.

Sainz, who was scouted by the Potsdam and some other European clubs since 2013, was back again in a place that has become a little bit familiar after playing also the Women’s U20 World Championship in Brno.

A story about the player developed in the Baja California High Performance Center was published by the Bundesliga website under the title ““Ándale!, Ándale!, Arriba!, Arriba!, Olé!, Olé!.”

Her picture released by the Club is also shown with the uniform of Baja, before winning the National Junior Olympic championship in her native country.

The SC Potsdam also stated that “Seo” will play as outside hitter/receiver. “She was one of the best players during the 2013 U20 World Championship and was followed by Alberto Salomoni last year in Brno,” the Club’s report mentioned on the Bundesliga home page.

After playing the Grand Prix, Sainz is in preparation for the Women’s World Championship that will take place in Italy on September. She was called up by the Mexican Federation to play the NORCECA’s last qualification round in Trinidad and Tobago, where Mexico got the last ticket available.

Sainz was also the Most Valuable Player of that tournament. “Just a few years ago we stated that Seomara was a player with a great future, the best in Mexico. Nobody believed us and today that is a reality,” said Argentinean Estanislao Matías Vachino, who has coached her  in the regional program of Baja California and  as National Youth and Junior coach for two years.

She is the second athlete of the Baja California Program, who has been scouted and recruited by a German sport club in any discipline. Jessica Sanchez, who plays Field Hockey in the state and national teams, has already played her first season with Brehmen in the Hockey Bundesliga.
