Mexico and Puerto Rico fall in World League

 

   

TEPIC, Mexico, June 14, 2015 – China had a lethal combination of attackers that swept hosts Mexico 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-21) in Pool G of the FIVB Volleyball World League at the Auditorio de la Gente on Sunday.

 

China’s Zhang Zhejia scored 13 points to lead his team, while team-mates Yuan Zhi, Zhang Chen, Geng Xin all scored in double figures with 11 points apiece, to outscore Mexican point leaders Jorge Barajas and Julian Duarte, who only scored nine and eight points, respectively.

 

In Podgorica, Montenegro, Tunisia beat Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-17, 25-19) to win their first FIVB World League match of the season. 

 

Tunisia’s Marouane Garci was the match’s top scorer by a significant margin, with 28 points. Ismael Moalla contributed 13 points in the victory. Maurice Torres and Hector Soto got 14 points each for Puerto Rico.
