NORCECA receives first report on Veracruz CAC Games
TIJUANA, Mexico, November 18 2012 - The North, Central American
and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) presented the
First Inspection Visit Report of the 2014 Central American and
Caribbean Games at the Sports Organization Commission meeting.
The inspection, which took place on last September after a visit
of Norceca authorities to the cities of Veracruz and Cordoba,
was part of the topics related to the future competitions
agenda.
The women’s volleyball tournament at the Central American and
Caribbean Games is scheduled to be played from November 16-24
while the men’s competition is expected to be played from the
24-30.
The official venue for both, men’s and women’s tournament will
be the Cordoba Arena, a facility that will be located in the
city of the same name.
Along with this venue, there will be another one in Veracruz for
the Beach Volleyball competition, scheduled from November 24-30.
The Beach Volleyball stage will be located in Playa Marti, by
the “Manuel Avila Camacho” Coast Boulevard and Jose Marti Avenue
(that gives the name of the beach).
For volleyball a participation of eight teams per gender and per
country is expected, with the support of more than 150 persons
in the operations staff.
Meanwhile in Beach Volleyball will have the participation of 16
teams per gender and per country and a staff of approximately 64
persons including technical personnel, as well as national and
international referees.
Some other issues like lodging and a visit to the grounds where
the Central American Sports Village is being built were included
in the report as the first updates concerning this multi sport
event that will be the second most important to take place in
Mexico in the present decade after the XVI Pan American Games of
Guadalajara 2011. |
