Beach Volleyball take fast pace in
Jamaica
Kingston, Jamaica, October 18, 2012 - After only two weekend of
exciting competition in the Just Bet/TvJ SN Beach Volleyball new
interests are being kindled and old interest rekindled in
volleyball and beach volleyball in Jamaica. The competition,
which is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays, from October 06 -
November 03, 2012, is title-sponsored by the betting company
Supreme Ventures Lotteries Limited, through their subsidiary
brand Just Bet, and by Television Jamaica Sports Network.
Other important sponsors that have given invaluable support to
the effort the Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA) are Jamaica
Blue Spring Water, Yummy Bakery, Velle Sports International, Hi-Lyte
Sport Drink, Red Bull, Red Stripe Light, Juici Patties and
Suzuki Jamaica.
The
competition has been receiving very good coverage in the main
electronic and print media platforms in Jamaica. As such a
number of other organizations are expressing interest in the
attractive product being packaged by JaVA. On Monday 15 October,
based on the request of Sunset Jamaica Grande hotel and the
Urban Development Corporation, a one-day beach volleyball
competition was held at the UDC beach in the popular town of
Ocho Rios. JaVA is currently hoping to partner with the owners
of this venue and with a large and reputable hotel like Sunset
Jamaica Grande in order to host international beach volleyball
competitions in the near future.
JaVA
has taken steps to make the League more than just a beach
volleyball competition. The focus has been on how to create an
event that provides entertainment to beach volleyball fans,
children and general spectators. With the support of the
sponsors, a Fun Zone is set up for the kids and there are
several opportunities for spectators to win spot prizes. This
approach has been well received by the sponsors and spectators
alike.
JaVA
is also using the League to prepare its athletes for successes
in the future and after four days of competition it is evident
that the players are on the right path. There have been a few
upset victories by players with no international exposure in
beach volleyball over some of those who are so experienced. |
