Pan American Cups will be qualifiers to Pan Am Games

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 19, 2017 – The Men’s and Women’s Pan American Cups will be qualifying events toward the 2019 Pan American Games to be held in Lima, Peru with eight teams per gender.

The top five ranked teams at the end of each intercontinental tournament will get automatic berth to the Games.

The women’s cup will take place in July of 2018 while the men’s competition will be disputed in August.

Peru, as host country, is qualified in both events.

The other two teams –one from NORCECA and one from South America- will come out of final qualification tournaments with a minimum of four participants.

Each confederation is entitled to include one up-and-coming national federation’s side to meet the quota.
