GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 21, 2016 - The fifth stop of
the 2016 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit kicks off on Friday
with 30 matches scheduled covering both genders.
Kennedy McGowan, president of the Cayman Islands Volleyball
Federation, welcomed all participants, inviting all them to
enjoy once again the environment of Grand Cayman.
“On behalf of the National Federation of Cayman Island we
welcome once again to the island and I hope each of your
athletes and officials enjoy our beautiful Seven Mile Beach”,
said McGowan.
Ed Drakich, competition director and President of the NORCECA
Beach Volleyball Commission, explained that women will be
distributed in four groups of four teams while the 15 men teams
will be divided into three groups of four and one of only three.
The first day of competition features 14 men’s and 16 matches in
the women’s segment.
The action starts at 9:00 a.m. (local time) with two female
matches in Pool A with Flint/Larsen (USA-A) versus Urango/Bensend
(USA-B) and Gordon / Wilkerson (CAN) against Allen Edinboroud/Howell
(SKN)
In the men’s division the opening has Mora/Lopez (NCA) pitted
againts Garrido/Leonardo (GUA)
