Productive meeting of Beach Volleyball Organizers
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 16, 2013 – The
organizers and promoters of the different tournaments comprising
the 2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit held a one-day meeting
in Santo Domingo to review the previous season and to discuss
the key points in preparation for this year’s campaign.
“It was a very productive meeting in anticipation of what we
hope will be a successful beach volleyball season,” Cristóbal
Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA, said. “We had the
opportunity to exchange the experiences of last year and improve
the organization of our tournaments in all the aspects.”
The sites of ten were confirmed while five other hosts are still
to be decided before the end of the month.
For the fifth consecutive year, the season will begin in Cayman
Islands on March 20-25 followed by the event in Guatemala on
April 17-22.
The tour then continues in Toluca, Mexico (June 5-10, Varadero,
Cuba (August 21-26), Mayaguez, Puerto Rico (September 5-8),
Mazatlán, Mexico (September 11-16), San Diego, USA (October
2-7), St. Lucia (October 9-14), Punta Arenas, Costa Rica
(October 30-November 4) and Trinidad and Tobago (November
13-18).
The four hosting countries for the first phase of the
qualification process towards the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in
Nanjing, China, were also decided on Saturday.
The ECVA event will be in St. Lucia while Trinidad and Tobago
will organize the event of CAZOVA. The tournament of AFECAVOL
will take place in Nicaragua and the one corresponding to the
Central zone will be in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. |
