Two-day Development Seminar to be held in Punta Cana

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, September 26, 2011 – A two-day Development Seminar for the National Federations category I and II will preced the 21st NORCECA Congress to be held on October 6-8 at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

 

The Seminar, scheduled on October 4-5, will cover topics such as Development Plan, Strategy, Sport Organization, Grassroots Programs, National Teams, Marketing, Public Relations and Communications.

 

This activity is being organized by Mushtaque Mohammed, NORCECA Vice President in charge of development, with Larry Romany as coordinator. The participants as lecturers include Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA and FIVB First Executive Vice President, Helgi Thorsteinsson, FIVB Technical and Development Director, Chrissy Benz, John Kessel, Marcos Kwiek, Roosevelt Comarazamy and Nelson Ramirez.

 

The organization of the seminar follows the example set by FIVB during their 32nd World Congress held in Rome, Italy in October of 2010 when a one-day workshop was held to provide the opportunity for the federations to discuss issues with the FIVB and Confederation officials.
