GROS ISLET, St Lucia, April 28- 2013-   St Lucia defeated St Kitts and Nevis 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-18) and will contest Haiti the men’s final of the NORCECA Second Round Pool J of the 2014 FIVB Men’s World Championships Qualifications here at the Beausejour Gymnasium on Sunday evening.

St Lucia needed to defeat St Kitts and Nevis 3-0 to reach the final against the Haitians both with 10 points. El Salvador finished also with 2-1 win-loss record but fell short with 9 points.

St Lucia’s scoring was led by the duo of Julian Bissette and Joseph Clercent who registered 19 and 12 points respectively. For St Kitts and Nevis, St Clair Hodge was their leading scorer with 10 points.

Looking towards the title decider and a rematch with Haiti, coach of the St Lucia team, Kendall Charlery indicated it will be a re- focused bunch of players who will take the court.

“We are not going to take the match lightly; We are going to face a different Haitian and will be a different approach- different tactics… It will be a different St Lucia on show,” Charlery projected.

Charlery and team Captain- Dayne Williams agreed that in order to get past the Haitians they have to make fewer errors. When both teams met in the opening match of the Pool, the St Lucians came away 3-1 victors.

The winner of the final gets an automatic berth to the third round, with their ultimate destiny being a place in the final in Poland in 2014.
