Two teams seeking their fourth crowns of the year

 

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, November 12, 2014 – Trinidad & Tobago will host the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit Season Finale for the second consecutive year as the tenth stop of double gender event takes place from November 12-17.

 

Twenty two men’s teams and nineteen women’s teams hailing from twenty-three countries will take part in the competition.

 

Mexico’s Martha Revuelta and Bibi Candelas, winners of the female segment in the last two tournaments in Boquerón and Chula Vista, are going after the three-peat and fourth victory of the year as they also won the tournament held in Huixquilucan, Mexico.

 

USA’s Kimberly McGiven-Dicello, who won three times this year partnering with Tealle Hunkus in Cayman Islands, Antigua Guatemala and North Bay, Canada, will be seeking also for a fourth crown in 2014 now playing alongside with Lane Carico.

 

Canada’s Melisa Humana and Taylor Pischke and Cuba’s Lianma Flores and Leila Martinez, winners in Manzanillo, Mexico and Varadero, Cuba, respectively, are also registered for the tournament as also USA’s Heather Hughes, who won in Guatemala City with Christal Engle, and now will be playing with Emily Day.

 

In the men’s division, Cuba’s Nivaldo Díaz and Sergio Gonzalez will go after their fourth gold medal of the season. The Cuban pair previously won two straight events in Antigua Guatemala and Guatemala City and also triumphed in Huixquilucan.

 

Other men’s teams with victories in this year, who are registered in Trinidad & Tobago, are Puerto Rico’s Roberto Rodriguez and Eric Haddock, who won in Manzanillo, Mexico, Canada’s Josh Binstock and Sam Schachter, winners in North Bay, Canada, and Mexico’s Lombardo Ontiveros and Juan Virgen, who prevailed in Boquerón, Puerto Rico.

 

Binstock and Schachter recently won the Parana Open and finished second at Doha in the FIVB World Tour.
