USA are still undefeated in Grand Prix

 

   

KALININGRAD, Russia, July 11, 2015 – A great all round team effort from USA helped them whitewash hosts Russia 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) in their FIVB World Grand Prix match on Friday.

 

Nataliya Goncharova was the game’s top scorer, with 14 points; Tetori Dixon and Karsta Lowe earned 12 points each for USA. USA now has 12 points and leads Pool F; Russia added nothing.

 

In Saturday’s action, USA beat Turkey 3-1 (25-12, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21) to continue their unbeaten run. 

Polen Uslupehlivan was the top scorer in the match with 24 points. Kimberly Hill got 21 for USA.

 

In Saitama, Japan, China demolished the Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-19) with Changning Zhang impressive for the hosts who continue their 100 % record in the 2015 World Grand Prix on Friday.

 

Xinyue Yuan and Changning Zhang each score 10 points for China. Gaila Gonzalez had 12 points in the losing cause.

 

In Saturday’ actionhosts Japan outplayed Dominican Republic in a pretty one-sided match 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-15) to mark their first victory in Pool E.

 

Saori Kimura and Yuki Ishii each contributed 10 points in the victory, while Erasma Moreno had 10 points for the Dominican Republic.
