RIMINI, Italy, June 15, 2021 – United States
defeated Italy in straight sets 3-0 (25-15,
25-18, 25-21) in a fourth-round men’s volleyball
match of the FIVB Nations League on Tuesday.
The American side completely dominated the
Italian squad from start to finish. They held
wide advantages in blocks 7-1 and serves 9-3
while giving away 21 points via errors, one more
than the losers. The winners led in attacks
39-29.
Matthew Anderson and Taylor Sander led the
United States with 17 and 14 points,
respectively, while Torey Defalco chipped in
with 8 points.
Giulio Pinali was the top scorer for Italy with
just 7 points. |
