WCH 2014 Qualification Tournament ready to kick off

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 6 2013. - Marta CentenoSajche, President of the Central American Volleyball Association AFECAVOL and head of the Control Committee, along with Enrique Santis, President of the Guatemalan Volleyball Federation, presented to the local press the NORCECA second-round Group L qualification tournament to the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Italy.

Details of the organization were given by Enrique Santis who indicated “we are pleased to welcome teams from the Caribbean who we usually don’t have the opportunity to play against”.

Marta CentenoSajche, on behalf of NORCECA and its President, Cristobal MarteHoffiz, praised Guatemala’s efforts to host an international event once more, “this has been a busy year for Guatemala and our Confederation recognizes their organizational attributes”.

Centenoalso explained about the competition format that kicks off on Saturday, indicating the motivation for Guatemala to qualify to the next stage as they are the only country in the Central American region to host a NORCECA qualifier this year.

Also attending the press conference were Assistant Coach, William Fernandez and Captain of the National Team, Diana Arias.
