Brazilian Cardoso elected MVP at U21 Pan Am Cup

FORT MCMURRAY, Canada, May 21, 2017 – Victor Cardoso, the top scorer of the Brazilian team that won the U21 Men’s Volleyball Pan American Cup, was elected the most valuable player of the tournament on Sunday. Cardoso, who finished the tournament with 54 points, reserved 16 of those points to lead Brazil in the title match against Cuba held at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre. Brazil wins gold, Cuba silver, at the U21 Pan Am Cup

FORT MCMURRAY, Canada, May 21. 2017 - Brazil came through when it counted to win the gold medal of the U21 Pan American Cup at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre at Keyano College in Fort McMurray. Brazil grabs second victory at the U21 Pan Am Cup

FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA, CANADA:  Guatemala was overwhelmed by Brazil today 0-3 (14-25, 10-25, 11-25) at the U21 Pan American Cup at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre at Keyano College in Fort McMurray. Brazil’s Victor Cardoso led a strong full-squad effort with 11 points, followed by Felipe Roque with eight points. Erik Flores again was the top scorer for the losing side, with seven points. Canada pleases its home crowd at the U21 Pan Am Cup

FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA, CANADA:   Canada worked out the pressure of playing at home, to beat Guatemala.  The final score was 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-15). Canada’s top scorers were Matthew Passalent of Hamilton, Ontario, and Eric Loeppky; Steinbach, Manitoba, who each contributed 15 points.
