Lane Carico and Heather Hughes win the gold medal at the NORCECA Beach Circuit 

CHULA VISTA, California, October 6, 2013 –The USA-A team of Lane Carico and Heather Hughes defeated compatriots Sarah Day and Kaitlin Nielsen of USA-B, 21-12, 21-17 on Sunday to win the gold medal at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. In the bronze medal match, the Mexico-A team of Martha Revuelta and Bibiana Candelas defeated the Mexico-B squad of Itzel Santoyo and Stephanie Burnside, 21-15, 21-17.  More  Español

Four women’s teams with perfect records

CHULA VISTA, California, October 4, 2013 – Four women’s teams went undefeated on the first day of pool play at the NORCECA Beach Circuit event at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. The event is the eighth on the 2013 NORCECA Beach Circuit. Teams from Puerto Rico, Mexico and Costa Rica all went 2-0 on Friday along with both teams from the United States. In Pool A, Puerto Rico’s Darian Acevedo and Vanessa Velez beat Cayman Islands’ Jessica Wolfenden and Cristin Alexander in straight sets, 2-0 (21-17, 21-16). They had a tougher time against the Canada-A team of Claudia Seguin and Brandie Wilkerson before winning.  More  Español

Chula Vista Beach Volleyball Tournament gets underway

CHULA VISTA, California, October 4, 2013 – The Chula Vista Beach Volleyball Tournament, the eight leg of the 2013 NORCECA Circuit, gets underway on Friday at the U.S. Olympic Centre with a total of 32 matches in the double-gender competition. Sixteen pairs per gender have been divided into four pools with the top two duos from each pool advancing to a single elimination bracket. The two pairs of the in the bottom half of the pools will play for the 9-16 positions. The women’s action features an opening match between Nadia Galan and Lourdes Ramirez of Guatemala-A and Sara Day and Kaitlin Nielsen of United States-B. The second match sees Dominican Republic’s Diana Peguero and Nairobi Agramonte against Victoria Altomare. More  Español

Carico looks to continue successful streak in NORCECA

CHULA VISTA, California, October 2, 2013 - USA Volleyball will welcome beach volleyball teams from 13 different countries when it hosts the 2013 NORCECA Beach Circuit event on Oct. 4-6 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista. Sixteen men’s teams and 16 women’s from countries in North American, Central American and the Caribbean are registered to compete. The United States is sending the women’s teams of Lane Carico and Heather Hughes along with Sarah Day and Kaitlin Nielsen.
